Becoming the change San Bernardino Needs by Serving the Community.
Eagle's Nest is a non-profit organization born of the need in the city of San Bernardino, California. It all began on a Monday when we carried out a pot of Birria (a Mexican spicy stew) and set out a table right outside our building and invited all who were in a nearby park.
The result was a positive response from all those who were homeless, finding refuge in the shade of a tree. The following week we agreed to return. We made chicken soup that day and they agreed to come into the building because of the bad weather. Ever since that first Monday in October 2013, Eagle’s Nest Community Service has become a Soup Kitchen with the help of a group of volunteers. They donate their valuable time, putting in many hard-working hours cooking, serving, and greeting all those who come with an environment where they are all treated with dignity and respect.
We currently distribute over 400 boxes of food per month to not only homeless but also low-income families. With the help of Community Action Partnership Food Bank in San Bernardino CA, Vida-Life Ministries in Bloomington CA, and Feeding America in Riverside, CA we are able to provide boxes of groceries to all who come.
We also provide community resources to channel more aid to anyone who requests it.
The demands are greater each day. More than ever are we in need of support and contribution. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
